About Me

Before getting excited about product I did workflow and process automation of entertainment industry media assets for over 20 years. During that time I started several small businesses, launched a conference on the fusion of photography and film-making, founded an educational group for digital photography and taught a lot of people how to manage images.

Then, the product bug hit me!

I was hired by WB as an asset management strategist in their content management technology group. My first project in that role was an effort to streamline artwork handling and approvals for DC Comics. As part of that effort I took the CSPO (certified scrum product owner) training with the primary SME at DC. That was it for me - I was ready to become totally immersed in product.

I got tapped to be one of the first Agile Product Owners in my department as WB made the shift from buy to build.  I was the product lead team that successfully launched a new, greenfield, application that immediately started saving over $10MM per year in operating expenses. Since leaving WB my application has been widely adopted by other groups across Warner Media and, now, Discovery. I couldn't be more proud!

Some things I'm proud of from my time at WB

  • Submitted 10 Patents for consideration, 6 were chose for full review and 2 of those are pending
  • I led an investigation into the use of AI for content tagging
  • As an extracurricular activity I led classes for other staff including python for beginners and graph database applications
  • Wrote a small python script that save a team over 80 hours of boring manual work during the launch of a new streaming initiative
  • Initiated the drive to standardize the metadata codes used for languages across HBO, Warner Media and WB
  • Team Leader for the winning WB Tech Hackathon team that submitted an app that automatically builds social media videos from old TV shows based on closed caption dialog

That was the best product demonstration I have ever seen

Y Meadows

Just as Covid started kicking off, I was approached by the leadership at Y Meadows and asked to become the cornerstone of their product team. The idea was compelling and the team was amazing so I agreed and have now shipped my second zero-to-one application and am settling into the "messy middle" as we refine our go-to-market and continue to grow our customer base.
